Emily Barlow is a materials engineer/design enthusiast living outside of Los Angeles. When not thinking about electro-optics, she makes websites and reads about typefaces and indie music.

Hello! Welcome to my very much still growing online portfolio.

As you may or may not have guessed, I’m Emily. (K is for Katherine) I’m currently a Materials Engineer at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, where I spend my days thinking about what happens when light hits stuff, to put it simply. I graduated in May 2010 from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a degree in Materials Science & Engineering (concentration in Nanoscale Materials) and two minors in Math and Engineering Entrepreneurship.

While I was there doing all that science-y stuff, I picked up some HTML/CSS, etc. and took some design classes, the results of which you can check out here. To get a taste of some of the other ways I spent my time, check out the Random section.

You can see a more comprehensive outline of the last six years of my life in my (very engineering-focused) resume. Feel free to say hi!

Here are some other places I exist on the internet: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Rdio

Enjoy! =)
